My Positive Life – Lua. P

Peruvian trendsetter Luanna is a familiar face for any tumblr/lookbook/fashion blog junkie. Her alternative style and individual flair has meant that her personal blog, Le Happy, gets thousands of hits a month and has a worldwide fanbase. Lua herself has even made an appearance on a Topshop t-shirt! Here she talks to Positive Luxury about her inspirations, achievements and keeping a positive mindset.

One word that describes you? Dedicated.

In your own words, what do you do? I am a Peruvian girl and a fashion student living in NYC . I also own a blog where I share my fashion inspiration and vision.

Who is your greatest influence in your career/life? I would say my mum. She always tells me that I should follow my instincts and do what I think will be right for me. Ive been influenced by her in the way she motivates me to be myself and trust that things happen for a reason, that way I always see the good side of things and am positive with everything. Also she is super determined and motivates me to be effective. Im very dedicated, always active and I like to get things done.

Which is your favourite part of your job? Blog wise I love to inspire girls and get feedback . I enjoy getting creative and coming up with ideas on how to modify things and mixing stuff I never thought I would.

Which is the part that you enjoy the least? Im really busy all the time, but that keeps me rolling. I always feel I could be doing something so sometimes I lack time to relax and do nothing.

What is your greatest achievement? I would love to say becoming a finalist for a Mango contest and going to Barcelona, or having my picture printed in one of Topshop’s t-shirts, or getting a look I styled in a window of Lord & Taylor in New Yorks Fifth Avenue but I have t say the biggest achievement of them all is my blog itself. I really am very committed to it and post on a regular basis. I can’t believe the amount of people I am reaching and its such an overwhelming feeling! I love my readers and the fact that they can see I share my real genuine style.

What was your Plan B? If I didn’t get into FIT I would have studied literature in Peru. I love Hispanic literature.

What is your most prized possession? In terms of monetary value it would have to be my laptop!

What’s the best advice you’ve been given? One should always see the positive side of things. I mean, things happen for a reason and if you take the best out of your experiences you will realize you are the one that controls your life. No matter what happens if you know how to deal with things you can learn to be happy. One of the best advices I was given is that one should not get stuck in the past or let negative things affect you. Just let it go and look forward.

Please complete the sentence… I could not live without… My family and boyfriend.

Favourite restaurant? In which city? Any Peruvian restaurant, food in Peru is amazing.

What is your personal luxury? Im not expensive at all so I cant think of anything besides enjoying a good beer and a good cheese with my boyfriend.

What steps do you take to make your life more positive? Being open to every possibility and opportunity. I keep focused; have an open perspective and a positive attitude.

I firmly believe that frugality shown by this Peruvian girl is closer to happiness than luxury…. and it is a good model for young people…..
