Here at Positive Luxury, we’re super excited about the third annual Future Fabrics Expo, held on September 22-24, an event focusing on the environmental impact of the fashion industry. Investigating innovation in the textile industry, The Sustainable Angle is a not-for-profit organisation that initiates and supports projects that aim to minimise the fashion industry’s negative effects on our planet.
Championing ideas that have the potential to transform the fashion industry through the design and manufacturing process, The Sustainable Angle is also dedicated to fabric sourcing and consulting. The Future Fabrics Expo aims to showcase and promote innovative fibres, fabrics and products with a strong planet-friendly angle, as well as new technologies sourced from suppliers that are committed to lowering the environmental impact across the entire supply chain.
This year’s Future Fabrics Expo is hosted at the Olympia Exhibition Centre as a part of Fashion SVP – a leading event dedicated to near-shore fashion manufacturing. Fashion SVP was established in 2011 and has now expanded its work to over 15 European and Euro-Med coutries. The 2013 Expo is supported by forward-thinking names such as Kassim Denim, Swiss Organics, Avery Dennison and Pratibha Syntex. Showcasing innovative ideas along with hundreds of sustainable fabrics all over the globe. The aim of this event to illustrate different ways to reduce the environmental impact of the textile production.
The Expo is a meeting place for designers, journalists, buyers and students to network, as well as a platform to discuss and learn more about the global textile production and how the design and manufacture process can function more sustainably for the future of the planet.
The Sustainable Angle will present a very exciting seminar “The Sustainable Future of Textiles”, as well as guided tours of the Future Fabrics Expo. If you’d like to attend, simply register on their website here.
