Our weekly round-up of stories from around the globe. This week: Drake and Morgan open new site, IWC launches a collaboration with the BFI, meditation for World Peace day and Burberry launch new collection on Snapchat.
Bar operator Drake & Morgan is to open its ninth site – a new bar and grill concept in London’s King’s Cross which, for the first time, will share its name with the company.
The food menu will be overseen by newly appointed head chef Dave Green, formerly at Dean Street Townhouse in London, under the direction of group executive chef Robert Mitchell. It will be divided into meat, fish and vegetables “off the grill” together with a dedicated deli section offering charcuterie and cheese.
Swiss luxury watch manufacturer IWC Schaffhausen is launching a limited-edition timepiece to celebrate its partnership with the BFI. The brand is also creating a bespoke IWC timepiece in platinum, to be auctioned at the BFI’s unique fundraising gala LUMINOUS, of which IWC is headline sponsor.
The Portugieser Hand-Wound Eight Days Edition ‘BFI London Film Festival 2015’ will be limited to just 59 timepieces in stainless steel. Each model will be individually numbered on the case back, alongside the inscription ‘BFI Film Forever 2015’, increasing their appeal for collectors.
17,704 people have confirmed they are attending the event to celebrate world peace day on Monday September 21.
Just days after revealing that it will be the first brand to launch a channel on Apple Music, the brand announced that it will premiere its new collection for London Fashion Week via Snapchat. Burberry’s Snapchat followers will see the garments “as finishing touches are being made, captured live from the Burberry design studio in London.”
