Natural beauty brand Weleda, which responsibly sources all of the materials used in its products, has partnered The North Circular, a fashion company working with British wool, to produce a new gift set.
Within the kit is a knitting pattern by The North Circular to enable individuals to make their own hot water bottle cover, as well as a Relaxing Bath Milk, Body Wash and Body Oil, cultivated by Weleda from biodynamic lavender flowers, in a fair trade partnership with Moldovan farmers.
The knitting pattern is printed on recycled paper in line with the social and environmental efforts of The North Circular’s founders, leading models Katherine Poulton and Lily Cole, who set up their accessories business to give retired grandmothers the opportunity to be part of an ethical accessories business. The yarn used is responsibly sourced alpaca wool.
Speaking of the project, Katherine Poulton says: “Weleda is a brand we love and admire. This is a simple idea but it is heart-warming. I think we need those kinds of sweet things in our lives – it helps to bring people together.”
