Monthly Favourites: May

Each month Positive Luxury rounds-up our favourite picks from around the web – from the products on our wishlist to the stories that got us talking. Plus, what to look out for in the month ahead.

We’re excited that… you can now find the Butterfly Mark on Selfridges!

The Positive Luxury team is delighted to share our new partnership with Selfridges. You can now find our Butterfly Mark on the Selfridges website and app, alongside the brands to trust that are sold through the department store. As always, click or tap whenever you see the Butterfly Mark to reveal the Positive Actions associated with that brand!

We’re lusting after… the feminist loafer

As soon as we saw the Moda Operandi x Del Toro velvet loafers they went straight to the top of our wardrobe wishlist. Each pair is embroidered with a feminist slogan from “Nasty Woman” to “Never Give Up”. These designs add a little tongue-in-cheek empowerment to a classic style without being cliché.

We’ve been talking about… The Copenhagen Fashion Summit

Earlier this month, Positive Luxury CEO and Co-Founder Diana Verde Nieto joined some of the leading figures in fashion and sustainability to discuss the future of these industries. Back in London, we followed the event with anticipation and were inspired to hear the progress being made by so many key players within the sector.

We’ve been inspired by… The 16 Best Companies to Work For in Fashion

Business of Fashion’s list of the 16 Best Companies to Work For in Fashion made for interesting reading, with companies assessed for Rewards & Benefits, Leadership & Development, Culture and Working Environment. We were particularly pleased to see brand to trust Loewe appear on the list for distilling pride and dedication into the working culture of the organisation.

We can’t wait to watch… The Handmaid’s Tale

The TV series of the iconic Margaret Atwood novel has been given critical acclaim this month after debuting on Hulu in the US. We thought we wouldn’t get to watch this dystopian drama, but it’s since been announced the show will be airing on Channel Four so UK fans will get to watch it too.

We’re buying tickets for… Balenciaga: Shaping Fashion at the V&A

The Victoria & Albert’s fashion exhibitions are always breath-taking, so we’re sure that the new Balenciaga exhibition will not disappoint. The exhibition will showcase the legacy of influential Spanish couturier Cristóbal Balenciaga and feature over 100 pieces from the iconic designer.
