Body Language:
Tighten & Tone The Mindful Way

Special guest post: Diana Le Quesne, Founder of Bold Bodies.

At Bold Bodies, we believe physical health is about self-love. The ability to move and embrace action and reaction with your body helps us understand who we are, what we feel, and gain a sense of priority. Moving with efficiency is a massive goal for all of us but when your soul, body and mind move together and travel in space with almost no effort, you experience happiness and fulfillment.

Unlocking your body

Bold bodies is a lifestyle where you prioritise your body. By joining us you find motivation, fantastic music, a detox program, a series of cross-training workouts and a lovely community that supports you on your journey to find and reach your goals. We provide classes, workshops and retreats in a cosy, friendly, caring way.

Everyone has different needs. At the heart of Bold Bodies is the need to align ourselves with life. Bold Bodies releases classes as products, we have trademarked a routine called ‘Aereoballet’ and we will start a teacher training soon to help more women to step in themselves and unlock their body.

Freedom in movement

I teach my students how to get in touch with themselves using movement; how to get the best out of their bodies; how to obtain a visceral sense of feel; how to develop freedom. Movement is expression and communication. We need to grow awareness around our possibilities and then we reach the freedom to choose how we like to move.

I work with my clients inside the body using a seasonal detox plan based on a plant diet and body biomechanics, restoring flexibility and extension.

Exploration through retreat

Beginning with your breathing, we explore the boundaries of your own personal space, small movements and developing speed. Some of the work, especially at the barre, challenges you to feel pain in order to awake muscle groups that are under-utilised. Pain is a key point to recognise and locate areas of your body that require your attention. The Bold Bodies retreat experience is structured to re-organise your personal space, giving you four days of full immersion in yourself followed by three days where you explore the surroundings with new eyes.

During the retreat, we have a ‘Community Detox Dinner’ where the main aim is to cook plant-based food as a group. Participants will learn new cuisine ideas and share their ideas with one another. During these four days, we will learn about following a vegan lifestyle in accordance with an ecologically sustainable way of living and feeling young.

The benefits of embracing creativity

We try to embrace who we are and rid ourselves of the tensions that make us miserable; we try to reach our spirit and become artists of spirit; to dance and enjoy every moment of the time we spend together. It is all about sharing, feeling, and managing our emotions. Putting ourselves in touch with our muscles, body lines, blood, and brain and using them in new ways.

Embracing creativity in your body becomes a skill: you can invent your own workout or self-practice when you know what you need. My students discover ‘never used muscles’, they feel ‘taller, thinner and lighter’, and they are ‘more grounded and in control’.
